I am a PhD student at the Cheriton School of Computer Science at the University of Waterloo, supervised by Jimmy Lin. Before starting my PhD, I completed a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science at the University of Waterloo.

My research lies at the intersection of Natural Language Processing and Information Retrieval, centering on trustworthy information access with large language models. My work focuses on ensuring that these systems remain robust, secure, and faithful without sacrificing effectiveness and efficiency.

Why This Matters

As LLMs increasingly shape how we access information online, their reliability and security have become non-negotiable. Yet current systems are fragile; they continue to hallucinate, remain vulnerable to adversarial manipulation, and introduce new risks as LLMs become increasingly capable. My research aims to harden this infrastructure, ensuring that next-generation systems are not only highly capable, but also safe, robust, and trustworthy.
