I am a PhD student at the Cheriton School of Computer Science at the University of Waterloo, supervised by Jimmy Lin. Before starting my PhD, I completed by Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science at the University of Waterloo.

My research interests lie at the intersection of Information Retrieval (IR) and Natural Language Processing (NLP), with a special focus on adversarial attacks and defenses. Specifically, I investigate how malicious actors might exploit vulnerabilities in search and generative AI systems, and I develop methods to make these systems more robust.

Why Does This Matter?

AI systems, from chatbots to search engines, increasingly influence the information we consume, making their reliability and security non-negotiable. By exposing and tackling potential flaws, my research aims to help shield these systems from manipulation and malicious actors, building a safer environment for everyone.
